The Ridgefield General Store (est. 1984)
has relocated to 346 Ethan Allen Hwy
(Route 7) in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
Always a destination of local townspeople and tourists alike, this unique store combines shopping with a classic New England setting... a 200+ year old post and beam barn.
A second building, a quaint stone cottage (a stone's throw from the barn) allows for more shopping. This structure is decorated in a seasonal theme as well as serving as a dedicated Christmas/Holiday Cottage in the winter.
The Ridgefield General Store, now in its 20th year, is proud of its quality merchandise, wide selection, and top-notch customer service. Family owned and operated, products from throughout the country and world can be found inside these walls. If we don't have it, we'll try to find it for you.

Ridgefield is a classic New England town, incorporated in 1708, and very
proud of its history
intertwined with the forming of this country.
Part of the Revolutionary War was fought on Main Street, while a classic tavern - The Keeler Tavern - can boast that George Washington slept there, and even Benedict Arnold passed through - though his horse was shot out from under him during battle.
Connecticut was the only one of the original 13 colonies to maintain self-rule until the American Revolution. The famous story of the Charter Oak comes from this time, where the CT colonists refused to hand over the charter (given to them in 1662 by King Charles II) to King James II in 1682.
